Join us this June as our much‑loved Community Walk returns, welcoming families, friends, supporters and dogs to raise vital funds for Horsfall House.
Whether you’re a keen walker or simply enjoy good company and beautiful countryside, everyone is welcome to take part and enjoy the heart of the Cotswolds together.
New for 2026: the walk will finish at Horsfall House, where walkers can collect their certificate of completion and enjoy refreshments in our Day Centre.
Dog transport is kindly provided by Playschool for Dogs running alongside our minibuses. Join us and help make a real difference.
The Route
Our 10 mile circular route starts at Minchinhampton Library and winds through some of the most beautiful countryside in the area and finishes at Horsfall House where walkers can collect their certificate of completion. The route includes rare public access to Gatcombe Park Wood and Avening Court opened exclusively for our event with the kind permission of their owners
Full route: Minchinhampton → Gatcombe Wood → Avening Court → Avening Social Club → Weighbridge Inn → Box Woods → Horsfall House. For those who prefer a shorter walking distance, an alternative five-mile return route is available after Avening Court, plus our mini bus from Avening Social Club to Horsfall House. Please wear sturdy footwear!
Event timings
Please check in at Minchinhampton Library to get your event wristband – this must visible for entrance to Avening Court.
- Check in at the library from 9.30am to 12.30pm only.
- Last entry to Avening Court: 3.00pm
- Shuttle bus will run from 10.30 – 3.30pm
- Dog fun bus will run from 10.30 – 3.30pm
- All cars parked in the Bell Lane overflow must be removed by 5.00pm.
Parking
Free parking is available at Bell Lane car park. Please follow Parking Marshal instructions and park considerately. All car are parked at their owners risk. Cars parked in the overflow, must be removed by 5.00pm.
Refreshments & facilities
Refreshments (including hot rolls, drinks and cakes) and toilets are available along the route at:
- Avening Social Club: 10.30am – 4.00pm
- Horsfall House: 12.00pm – 4.30pm
- Vegan and Gluten free options will be available
- Public toilets are available next to Minch library.
Shuttle bus
Our minibus will operate throughout the day from 10.30 – 3.30pm for anyone who may need assistance between Avening Social Club and Horsfall House stopping at Bell Lane car park.
- Final shuttle departs 3.30pm from Avening Social Club
- Please note that dogs are not allowed on the bus.
DOGS WELCOME: extra love for our four legged walkers
The wonderful Playschool for Dogs is supporting us and will be bringing along their dog fun buses, ready to shuttle any tired four legged friends who need a well earned rest. These buses will run alongside our own minibus, which will be on hand to transport tired humans too – so everyone can enjoy the day at their own pace!
Please note: dogs must be kept on a lead throughout Gatcombe Wood and Avening Court.

If you are unable to register online, you can register on the day at the check‑in desk on Sunday morning.

Once you’ve registered, please make a donation using the DONATE button below.
Suggested donations:
– Adults: £20
– Children (17 and under): £5
– Family (2 adults + 2 or more children): £45
Carers and sighted guides are not expected to donate and any amount you feel comfortable giving is warmly appreciated.
