Horsfall House has embarked on a comprehensive improvement plan, funded by a generous legacy. This funding has enabled us to undertake work on several key projects.
These are just some of the projects underway at the moment with many more to come:
1. Digital Nurse Call Bell System – a cutting-edge system, and only the second in the UK, installed to improve resident safety and ensure timely assistance.
2. Bedroom Renovations – ongoing upgrades to resident rooms, including new furniture, and revamped bathrooms, providing a more comfortable and contemporary living space.
3. New Day Centre Furniture – the Day Centre has been refreshed with new, comfortable furniture, creating an inviting space for social activities and gatherings, which are essential for their engagement and well-being.
4. Painting and Exterior Work – the Horsfall House Charity Shop exterior has been given a much needed fresh coat of paint, as has the vast majority of common areas, rooms and corridors throughout the home.
5. Lift and Accessibility Upgrades – our 30 year-old lift has seen a complete mechanical refurb to ensure it continues to be safe and reliable for years to come. Preparations are under way for a second, new lift, taking residents from the first floor General Unit, to the garden.
6. New Loft Insulation – by installing new loft insulation, we have significantly improved our building’s energy efficiency. This reduces heating costs and maintains a more consistent and comfortable temperature throughout the year.
7. Broadband and IT Servers – we’re upgrading our broadband connection and IT infrastructure, including new servers. This ensures robust digital connectivity for both residents and staff, supporting better communication, streamlined operations, and improved access to digital resources.
These upgrades reflect Horsfall House’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents and ensuring the best possible care. Thanks to the generous legacy that made this possible, we are able to invest in meaningful projects that directly benefit our residents and staff.
