We were thrilled to welcome a fantastic team from St. James’s Place who generously spent the day volunteering in the garden at Horsfall House.

From painting and weeding to gravel shovelling, root pulling, and raking, the team brought boundless energy, good humour, and a real sense of purpose. Their efforts made a visible difference to our outdoor spaces and lifted the spirits of everyone on site.

“We chose Horsfall House because of the exceptional care they provide, particularly in their specialist dementia ward,” said one of the volunteers. “Their commitment to supporting vulnerable residents with compassion really resonated with us.”

The day was filled with laughter, teamwork, and a shared sense of achievement. Volunteers also had the opportunity to tour our Cotswold unit and learn more about the vital role care homes like Horsfall House play in the community.

“Volunteering gave us a chance to give back in a hands-on way—through painting, gravelling, and gardening—while learning more about the incredible work being done here. It was a rewarding experience that brought our team closer together and reminded us of the power of small acts of kindness.”

We are incredibly grateful for the hard work and joyful spirit the St. James’s Place team brought with them. Their support means so much to our staff and residents.
