Our Winter Open Gardens event in Hyde is back again for 2026 on two consecutive Sundays in the hope of catching at least one day of winter sunshine! But even the greyest February day is brightened by a drift of winter flowers and especially the snowdrops that are everywhere in the beautiful and historic Hyde gardens. Hyde End will again be hosting a small Connoisseurs’ Corner of some more exotic and unusual varieties of snowdrops, new to the garden, as well as refreshments in the conservatory.

Why visit?

  • Rare and historic varieties – Hyde was once home to The Giant Snowdrop Company (1950s–1960s)
  • Stunning open gardens, lovingly tended by local enthusiasts
  • Hot drinks and plenty of homemade cake at Hyde End

Good to know:

  • Entry: Voluntary donation – please give generously if you can
  • Parking: limited in Hyde – please car share or walk via Knapp Lane
  • Accessibility: Parking for those with limited mobility is available at some of the gardens and views can be enjoyed from a wheelchair although the gardens are generally not wheelchair friendly unfortunately. Gardens include slopes, uneven surfaces and steps, so take care.
  • Footwear: Waterproof shoes recommended (some lanes can be muddy)
  • Charity: Patron: HRH The Princess Royal. Registered Charity number: 1208145
