Horsfall House are delighted to announce that Michelle Abbott, Manager of Horsfall@Home care service, has officially been awarded Registered Manager status. This is a significant achievement and an important milestone for our organisation.

Under UK law, any service providing personal care in people’s homes must have a Registered Manager who is formally responsible for how the service is run. This ensures that care is delivered safely, effectively and in line with the highest standards.

Michelle shared her thoughts on the journey: “Preparing for this role has been a year of learning and growth. I’ve gained in-depth knowledge of the Health & Social Care Act 2008, CQC Regulations 2009, safeguarding procedures, complaint handling and the 14 key regulations. I’ve also learned the day-to-day operational aspects, from payroll to using our care monitoring system. It’s been challenging but incredibly rewarding.”

In a recent mock CQC Inspection, the Horsfall@Home team received a ‘Good’ rating across the board, which reflects Horsfall House’s ongoing commitment to providing exceptional care and leadership within the community. This achievement underscores the dedication and professionalism of the team and now they are looking to grow.
