Vacancy: Night Nurse Supervisor
Schedule: Part-time, permanent. 23 hours per week.
Job Summary:
To provide and supervise the delivery of high-quality nursing personalised care to residents in accordance with up-to-date evidence-based professional practice and company policies.
Key Tasks
1. Lead, guide, support and monitor a multi-disciplinary shift team on both nursing units. This includes orientation of new joiners, supervision and appraisal, training and development, organising, allocating and co-ordinating their working rota and duties including annual leave sign-off.
2. Plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in accordance with residents’ needs (physical, social, psychological, spiritual)
3. Continuously evaluate care needs with other members of the nursing team and ensure that digital care plans and records are up to date and accurate. Continually seek to improve the care delivered to residents.
4. Ensure new residents are orientated into their surroundings and introduced to residents and staff and the appropriate documentation is completed on time.
5. Help residents to understand the ageing process and how it affects their health and lifestyle. Visit each resident daily to assess their needs and assist them to maximise their comfort, dignity, and independence. Create an environment which supports their physical and mental well-being.
6. Ensure that documentation (written and electronic) relating to the delivery of care is completed accurately, legibly and in accordance with NMC, CQC and company standards. Participate in the formal audit process at the request of the Registered Manager, e.g. Health & Safety/Accident data, Medication Practice audit.
7. Carry out venepuncture to enable prompt collection of blood specimens, if trained and competent
8. Comply with the NMC Code of Conduct at all times and ensure adherence to processes for the safe ordering, custody, storage, disposal, and administration of all medication. Accept responsibility for the safety of medication in store and on the trolley during dispensing rounds. Support the nurses to put away monthly drug order and new MAR sheets and communicate with our nominated supplier for additional supplies.
9. Proactively develop professional and clinical skills of self and staff to enhance the knowledge and skills needed for safe and effective practice. This involves attendance of mandatory and supplementary training sessions (tutorials, e-learning etc)
Pay: £24.91-£25.99 per hour
