Below are some of the recent activities our Residents have been doing. They made button flowers for Ascension Day, painted smiley faces onto coasters. and a smiley face balloon coordination game. They were also entertained by one of our Nurses who is very accomplished on the piano.
Our residents had a lovely afternoon outside in the court-yard to celebrate the
75th Anniversary of VE Day.
They wore hats and rosettes which they had made earlier in the week especially for the occasion.
We had tea, coffee and scones with jam and fresh cream. Stories were told by some residents of what they remember from that time. Poems were recited, everyone joining in. We played music from 1945. One song was mentioned by Jill “Don’t go down the mine Dad”
which we played. And then we had a sing along.
The atmosphere was great, staff members came down and joined in,
it was nice to see and hear residents sharing their memories with one another.
The lovely Rainbow hanging outside our home was
painted by our residents.
Our staff and residents would also like to say a huge "THANK YOU" to Annabelle aged 9 (well nearly 10) for painting and drawing rainbows for each of our residents!
