Fundraising

Horsfall House Nursing Home

Fundraising

Horsfall House is owned, through a group of volunteer trustees, by the community of Minchinhampton and is proud to offer the same outstanding services to both Social Services and Private clients. The policy of the trustees is, as far as possible, to maintain an even split between these two groups.

However Social Services only partially fund the costs and so there is a funding gap which is filled directly by Horsfall House.  We also offer free respite care so it is therefore vitally important to keep raising funds and we do this in a number of different ways:

  • Events and fundraising activities
  • Horsfall House 500 club
  • Our Charity pop up Shop
  • Donations including Gift Aid
  • Legacies

Legacies

If you or a loved one has benefited from the service offered at Horsfall House, or even if you haven’t but feel you want to pass on some of your good fortune, you can leave a legacy in your will to Horsfall House.

Making a bequest is best done through your solicitor who will help you make your donation effectively. Just write to your solicitor and advise what type of legacy you would like to leave to Horsfall House.

Different types of legacy suit different intentions:If you want to pass on all that is left in your estate after tax, liabilities and other provisions ask your solicitor to write a residuary legacy. Simply tell your solicitor clearly that your gift or a percentage of your residual estate is to benefit Minchinhampton Centre for the Elderly, Registered Charity No 287479

If you want to pass on a specific sum of money to Horsfall House ask your solicitor to write a pecuniary legacy. Simply tell your solicitor clearly that your legacy is a gift of a certain sum to benefit Minchinhampton Centre for the Elderly, Registered Charity No 287479 after your death.

If you want to pass on to Horsfall House a specific item or object simply ask your solicitor to write a specific legacy. If you would like to leave your house to Horsfall House at the end of your life simply advise your solicitor of your intention and ask for your will to reflect clearly the address of the property that you would like to pass on to benefit Minchinhampton Centre for the Elderly, Registered Charity No 287479.

Your solicitor will advise how charitable donation can minimise inheritance tax on your estate.

The 2.6 Challenge

Duncans Challenge

Wills Challenge

Wills Challenge

Horsfall House nursing home fundraising

This is Bob a 14 year old Border-Yorkie who is raising money in the 2.6 Challenge to save our charities. He would normally be a regular visitor to ’Grandad Vic’ at Horsfall House.

Bob is well known in Nailsworth as the ‘dog in the sack’ as his arthritis limits him to a slow sniffing pace. But from the sack he can enjoy a panoramic view and appreciate the surprised smiles from passers by!

Bob’s challenge is on 26th April and each day of the following week: ‘Walk’ 2.6 miles in his sack, then eat 2.6 gravy bones whilst I attempt a 2.6 min Pilates Downward Dog!

PLEASE DONATE WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD TO SUPPORT

HORSFALL HOUSE, THANK YOU.

Hi, my name is Will, I am a Gardener at Horsfall House and am raising money in the 2.6 challenge to save our charities.

Horsfall House is a popular place of work for many of my family members. My mum Gillian has worked at Horsfall House for 23 years, also my two sisters, Hayley and Rachel as well as my mother-in-law, Irene.

I have been a keen runner for the past 4 years so my challenge on the of 8th of May is to run 26 large laps of the garden at Horsfall House.

I will be wearing the colours of my running club Severn Athletic Club of Gloucester.

PLEASE DONATE WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD FOR THIS GREAT CHARITY, THANK YOU 🙏

Annabelle's Challenge

Annabelle will be doing 100 hula hoops a day for 7 days.

Annabelle would like to raise some money for the residents of Horsfall House, a care home for the elderly, to purchase new games and resources for them during this time.

Annabelle has been writing letters and drawing rainbow pictures for them since we have been in CV-19 lockdown which they have very much enjoyed. She would like to do more to cheer them up.

We would love to reach our target so please give as

much as you can afford.

THANK YOU

ANNABELLE
