The route has been specifically selected for its variety and interest, giving walkers the opportunity to go through areas of Gatcombe Wood and the sensitively restored grounds of Avening Court (closing at 15:00), both of which are not normally open to the public. This is with the kind permission of the owners.
· The full Walk is a 10-mile circular route.
· The first 4 miles or so will get you to Avening.
· And the new shorter route back from Avening makes a total walk of around 7 miles.
· All are well signposted with marshals along the route to keep you on track.
· A shuttle bus service will run taking in Bell Lane Minchinhampton, Avening Social Club and Avening Court; it’s a good way to visit the gardens if you are not up to walking there or to return to Minchinhampton if the full walk is a bit too much!
· Entry again this year is by voluntary donation so please give as generously as you can and should you be unable to do the walk but would still like to contribute, you can always sponsor one of our Community Walkers listed on this page.
· Registering and donating online is the simplest way to join us and please note that this is a two-part process, registering below and donating via our CAF Donate button (right hand side).
ALL WALKERS ARE REQUIRED TO CHECK IN AT MINCHINHAMPTON LIBRARY and all the important walk information can be read and downloaded below, see under the ‘Registration’ section; please read it carefully and remember that by registering, you are agreeing to the Walk Terms and Conditions.
See you there and have a great walk.

Horsfall House is owned through the Registered Charity by the community with the principal objective of providing affordable care in the local area. We seek to support those who are unable to meet the full cost their care and to generate funds to continually improve our facilities.
Our fundraising is spearheaded by the Fundraising Committee:
Kathy Hurst
Cherry Hatem
Roger Lewis
Nigel Parry
Alan Roe
Duncan Wood (Fundraising coordinator 07885 686006)
David Wyatt
With representation from the Horsfall House management and Georgina Harsant.
We stage a range of events throughout the year (both traditional and ‘virtual’ ones through the website) with the aim of both raising money and involving the local community in the life of Horsfall House and showing what it has to offer.
You can contribute by donating (ideally through the website), by supporting and helping at our events or by creating your own fundraising activity. Email fundraising@horsfallhouse.co.uk for more information and look for our events on the website.
Thank you
IF YOU ARE A UK TAX PAYER YOU CAN: Use Gift Aid and you can make your donation worth more. For every pound you give to us, we get an extra 25 pence from the Inland Revenue. If you are a UK taxpayer and would like to Gift Aid your donations now and in the future you must pay enough income tax and/or capital gains tax each tax year to cover the amount of Gift Aid that all charities and community amateur sports clubs claim on donations in that tax year, and you are responsible for paying any difference. When Registering for the Charity Walk just say YES. Click on the Giftaid it logo to find out more about Gift Aid.

Why not support Horsfall House by joining our 500 Club?
This is a really good way of helping the work of the Charity and also gives you the opportunity to get a return on your money.
Each share costs £24 for 12 months, with a minimum commitment of one year. Payment is by Standing Order (to keep our admin costs to a minimum) and you may purchase as many shares as you wish. The prizes total 50% of the Club’s income each quarter and are apportioned as: 1st prize 27%, 2nd prize 13% and 3rd prize 10% (so prize values rise and fall with the 500 Club income).
If you would like to join, you’ll find detailed 500 Club rules, an application form and Standing Order mandate below to download and print then return to us. Or you can call Horsfall House to post these forms to you.
The Club is administered by the Fundraising Coordinator on behalf of the Trustees and he can be reached via Horsfall House, Windmill Road, Minchinhampton GL6 9EY on 01453 731227 or email: fundraising@horsfallhouse.co.uk
Draws take place quarterly after the end of February, May, August and November.

If you want to pass on a specific sum of money to Horsfall House ask your solicitor to write a pecuniary legacy. Simply tell your solicitor clearly that your legacy is a gift of a certain sum to benefit Minchinhampton Centre for the Elderly, Registered Charity No 287479 after your death.
If you want to pass on to Horsfall House a specific item or object simply ask your solicitor to write a specific legacy.
