Horsfall House Celebrates 30 Years of Care with a Royal Visit from HRH The Princess Royal

On Monday 1st October 2024, Horsfall House proudly celebrated its 30th anniversary with a truly special visit from our patron, HRH The Princess Royal (Princess Anne). This momentous occasion recognised three decades of dedicated service to our elderly residents, Day Centre and Home Care clients, as well as our close ties with the local community.

The visit began with Princess Anne taking the time to visit with residents and clients, listening to their personal stories and learning about their experiences at Horsfall House. Her warmth and genuine interest brought great joy to both residents and staff, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Following on from this she officially renamed our General Unit to the Gatcombe Unit – a tribute to Princess Anne’s longstanding connection to Horsfall House and the Minchinhampton area. It was a heartwarming moment that symbolised our shared commitment to providing exceptional care for the elderly.

30 Years of Compassionate, Not-for-Profit Care
Since opening our doors in 1994, Horsfall House has been a cornerstone of elderly care in the Cotswolds. We have grown from strength to strength, expanding our services to meet the ever-evolving needs of our community. From residential care to our Day Centre and Home Care services, we’ve remained focused on delivering personalised, compassionate care for those with physical infirmities, dementia, and severe memory problems.

Over the years, Horsfall House has also introduced palliative care, respite services, and short breaks – all tailored to ensure that our residents and clients receive the support they need in a dignified and caring environment. It’s this unwavering commitment to quality and compassion that makes us proud to be one of the few truly not-for-profit care providers in the country.

A Fitting Tribute
Reflecting on the day, Nicola Priest, our Operations Director, said, “We are incredibly proud to celebrate this milestone. Horsfall House wouldn’t be what it is today without the hard work of our dedicated staff, the trust of our residents and their families, and the support of our volunteers. The visit from Princess Anne is a testament to the heart and soul of Horsfall House and all who have been part of its journey.”

The 30th Anniversary celebrations concluded with a catered evening reception for staff, local businesses and leaders, fundraisers, volunteers and Friends of Horsfall House. In this time we celebrated our rich history but also looked ahead to our future, highlighting our ongoing vision for not-for-profit care. The day was filled with reflections on key milestones, stories from residents and staff, and a celebration of Horsfall House’s unique place in the Minchinhampton community.

As we look forward to the years ahead, we remain dedicated to enhancing our services and ensuring that Horsfall House continues to be a place where care, compassion, and community are at the forefront of everything we do.
